Back in 2011 I was working as a restaurant manager at Shutters on the Beach. I had met Felipe - one of my bartenders at the time and he was not only my best bartender but also became a really good friend. We often talked about life, relationships, and everything in between. For the time I'd come to know Felipe - he had always been single, searching for a woman who was as in love with her faith as he was. As fate would have it, he found her one night at a church service! ALL the way from Brazil, and she ended up at the same church as him!
I remember when he told me about her and I was sooooo excited for them. From the moment they met, their chemistry ignited and never stopped. Being that they are both so active in their community and their church- having the celebrations at St.Monica's was an easy decision. Their beloved Mt.Signor would perform their beautiful traditional Catholic ceremony surrounded by their loving family and friends. This was one wedding I actually got to design and ATTEND! It was a tiring day, but being able to design for people who I hold close to my heart is even more rewarding. Their love is pure, deep, and a beautiful example of what we should be striving towards. Cheers to you both, I have so much love for both of you and I'm so happy to be part of your life!
Jenica and Jason's wedding day was simply breathtaking! Jenica and I were already friends from working together on other client's weddings so when it came time to plan her own I knew she would be a wonderful bride to work with! For her special day she knew she wanted it to be a romantic mixture of soft and bold tones with pops of glamour. Since her venue was already gorgeous, she really just wanted to amplify that beauty and add a little sparkle to the design.
Being in the wedding industry herself, she put in work to DIY some elements of the big day but left all the flowering elements in my hands. It's such a compliment when a bride trusts you with their vision because it takes some of the pressure off and allows the creativity to just flow organically.
If there's one element she was sure of - it was peonies in her bouquet! I combined a mixture of soft cream and blush peonies and added some magical majolica white spray roses to create a pretty sweet (if I do say so myself!) bridal bouquet ! See below : )
For her bridesmaids, she wanted to incorporate more of the pink berry & fuschia tones so they would stand out next to her. With their glamorous gold sequined dresses, the fuschia was a perfect pop of color !
Pictured above is the chuppah we designed for Jenica and Jason. Simple, elegant and accented again with a pop of fuschia garden roses to tie in the brides color palette for the day. For the ballroom, she opted out of the traditional centerpieces and decided to do long silver dollar eucalyptus garlands with pops of fuschia garden roses, blush spray roses and a berry traditional rose. She incorporated the mercury glass pedestal candles to accentuate the garlands and create a very romantic setting for the reception.
As you can see, Mr & Mrs. Visenberg know how to throw a party! It was an honor and a pleasure to design and plan with these two lovebirds. I know that they will continue to love and honor each other everyday, and I hope to be part of more of their special occasions in the future! Mazel-Tov to this fabulous couple!
